Position Title: Accountant

Brief Description of Job Duties: Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities for employer. Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Analyze direct and indirect costs of each product sold, including purchase, storage, shipping. Prepare reports to management about the costs and profitability of each item. Recommend efficiencies in bundling products to customers for low-cost delivery. Deal with vendors to deliver products just-in-time to reduce storage costs. Prepare annual and quarterly financial budgets. Analyze and understand the reasons why forecast revenues and expenses differ from actual revenues and expenses. Compute taxes owed and prepare business tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements. Collect, analyze, and audit data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies. Prepare detailed reports on audit findings. Timely handle accounts payable, receivables, payment of payroll and sales tax. Reconcile general ledger with bank statements.
